At the age of 40 I made a decision to go back to school. Well, now that I think about it, that isn't totally the truth, I have been in school off and on for the past 20 years trying to finish a degree in IT, but never had it in me to finish. What made this recent decision so monumental was that I totally changed my discipline!
You see, for the past 20+ years I have been a technology professional. The classes that I attended, the things that I learned and just about everything else that I did was related to technology but late at night when nobody was looking I started to learn how to hack the greatest computer of them all. I stated to listen to life coaches like Tony Robbins, read about Nietzsche, Freud, Pavlov and Skinner. I applied concepts, made small adjustments, saw things differently and started to get results. Psychology and Holistic Life Hacking was addicting and I was becoming a junky.

So I cashed in all of my credits, changed gears and started working towards a bachelors degree in Sociology/Business with a mid-range goal of obtaining my Masters Degree in Industrial/Organization Psychology . My professional goal is to become a Holistic Life Coach. With my education I want to focus on helping people improve their lives, improve work relationships, improve their ability to communicate, help them meet their goals and explore ways to provide a holistic balance between work and life. I'll probably leverage my IT background and focus on teams and people in that arena.
It's a tall order and trust me there are quite a few nay sayers but I am confident in my direction. Sure there will be some adjustments to my plans on the way, no path is straight, but I am excited and I am determined and those are the only variables that matter!

The next question you might ask is why now? Well, it took some time to come to the right point in life. After a lot of "what if's" and some deep soul searching it finally hit me. The answer wasn't soul shattering or earth moving. Matter of fact, it came to me at mile two of my first 5k race. I was heavy, I was tired and I was walking. I always thought that I would feel defeated at this point but I didn't. All that went through my mind was "I could" and "I can". I discovered that there was some truth to all the mumbo jumbo that I had been reading.
It all comes down to the belief. that everyone can become a "superman" in their life. They just need some seeing the path and help to get over the hurdles. I want to be the person that helps them. It's going to be a long journey and one that I want to share. Thank you for visiting.
